ABOUT
WILL SLATON STUDIO
Will Slaton Studio is a fine art painting studio devoted to work on canvas that explores life, emotion, and observation. Working primarily in acrylic, blending traditional technique with instinctive, hands-on application. This combination allows the artist to move between precision and instinct, creating surfaces that feel both intentional and deeply human. The physicality of the process is essential. Each mark carries a sense of presence, as if the work itself has been felt as much as it has been seen.
With a background in design and psychology and a largely self-directed painting practice, his work bridges structure and emotion... precision and vulnerability.
Each piece is an exploration of identity, transformation, and the human experience beneath the surface.
Will's work explores the space between who we are...
and who we are becoming.
Will create's emotionally driven figurative paintings (in Realism & Abstract) that capture moments of internal shift... awakening, doubt, release, and transformation. These are not static portraits, but glimpses into psychological and emotional transitions, where identity begins to unravel and reform.
Symbolism plays a central role in my practice. Elements such as butterflies, birds, and organic forms are used, not as decoration, but as narrative devices... representing transformation, duality, protection, and growth. These symbols help give shape to internal experiences that are often difficult to articulate.
At its core, Will's work is about self-belief, emotional honesty, and resilience. Even in moments of tension or darkness, there is an undercurrent of 'becoming'... something shifting beneath the surface.
Will create's for those who are in transition. For those questioning, evolving, and stepping into new versions of themselves. Each piece is an invitation to pause, reflect, and recognize that change is not only inevitable, but necessary.
