Castles In The Sky explores the tension between aspiration and illusion. The human tendency to construct idealized versions of life that exist just beyond reach. The subject’s upward gaze suggests both wonder and detachment, as if caught in a private moment of projection.
The “castles” are not literal structures, but psychological ones... dreams, expectations, identities we build in the mind. They are beautiful, but unstable; seductive, yet intangible.
The work asks whether these imagined realities elevate us or distance us from the present. This is not a critique of dreaming, but an examination of its cost... and its necessity.
She looks beyond what is, toward what could never quite exist.
Castles in the sky... fragile architectures of longing,
built from breath and illusion.
They rise weightless, untouched by gravity or consequence,
yet they shape the way she sees the world below.
In this moment, she is suspended between desire and reality...
reaching, imagining, believing in something just out of reach.
The dream is not false. It is simply unfinished.
