The Color Of Deceit

This painting explores the visible emotions displayed when someone has been betrayed. This betrayal may be by a lover, a trusted friend, or... oneself. In other words, 'self betrayal'. When a person violates their own internal compass, morals, ethics or values. Like many of my works, this portrait attempts to show this 'theme' via expression, but also subtle visual cues or metaphors.

Why I chose the hard road...
By this I mean my art's subject matter. See, painting is
hard, but painting people, especially close-up, is considered to be the hardest of all. And that's one reason why I chose it.
But I've been on this winding oath for quite a long
time now.
I grew up in a time where there was no internet, no video games and TV was really all the electronic entertainment we had...
