About the art:Awakening Oneself explores the internal moment of recognition. The point at which the self can no longer remain dormant. Unlike transformation imposed from the outside, this awakening is self-initiated, though often triggered by an external encounter. It is both intimate and disruptive.
The work centers on the idea that awakening is not about becoming something different, but about uncovering what has always existed beneath layers of conditioning, expectation, and inertia.
The subject is caught in that precise moment of awareness... when instinct overrides control, and the body responds before the mind can make sense of it. This is the beginning of change, not its resolution. A threshold. A confrontation. A return.
