About the art
Blood Of My Blood explores the psychological complexity of creation, transformation, and identity. The subject is confined within a compressed space, suspended between fear and devotion, carrying a life that is both deeply familiar and profoundly unknown. Her posture suggests protection, yet also surrender, as if caught between holding on to who she has been and becoming someone entirely new.
The child within her becomes both symbol and reality... an extension of self, yet also an independent force reshaping her from the inside. The enclosing form acts as both womb and boundary, reflecting the emotional tension of irreversible change. What grows within her is loved without condition, yet its arrival demands a quiet unraveling of the person she once was.
Rather than depicting motherhood as purely joyful or burdensome, the work explores the threshold between the two. It speaks to the coexistence of love and fear, wonder and grief, reminding us that transformation often arrives through both creation and sacrifice.
